Officials from The Queen’s Medical Center, the State Department of Transportation, and City Department of Transportation Services, announced that the new right-turn lane on the Kinau Street off-ramp to Lusitana Street will officially open on Friday, May 18, 2012. 

This improvement is designed to ease the flow of traffic in the Ward Avenue area and offer an alternative route to The Queen’s Medical Center and other destinations in the vicinity (see attached map). 

Work on the project began in April 2010 and involved the addition of the new right-turn lane on the Kinau Street off-ramp to Lusitana Street and traffic improvements at the intersection of Kinau, Alapai, Lunalilo, and Lusitana Streets. 

Queen’s thanks commuters and residents in the area for their patience and understanding throughout this project.
