The Queen’s Conference Center, constructed in 1941, and now designated as an historic building with the State of Hawai’i and the National Register of Historic Places, originally housed an auditorium and offices for many medical societies and organizations. It was known then as the Mabel Smyth Memorial Building, named after the first woman of Hawaiian ancestry to receive her degree in public health nursing.

For over 60 years, this building served as a gathering place for medical professionals and organizations whose mission was to enhance health education and communication in our community. The building was extensively renovated in the year 2000 to improve and expand services for the current needs of Hawaii's medical community.

The Queen’s Conference Center provides Queen’s staff, physicians and other health care professionals with a superior venue for medical education, communications and building relationships. Now available for public health-related events and meetings, the center features the Mabel Smyth Auditorium, a teleconference room, and other conference rooms to accommodate a variety of meeting and audio-visual needs.
