Joint Commission Accreditation Awards
The Queen’s Medical Center, Molokai General Hospital and CareResource Hawaii have been awarded accreditation from the Joint Commission under the Commission's on site evaluation program. The accreditation award recognizes Queen’s dedication to complying with the Joint Commission's state-of-the-art standards on a continuous basis.

Joint Commission Certified Primary Stroke Center
The Queen's Medical Center is the only Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center in Hawaii. The Joint Commission's Certificate of Distinction for Primary Stroke Centers recognizes organizations that make exceptional efforts to foster better outcomes for stroke care. Achievement of certification signifies that the services Queen’s provides have the critical elements to achieve long-term success in improving outcomes.

Magnet® Recognition
Queen's is the first and only hospital in Hawaii to receive the coveted Magnet recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The ultimate benchmark of patient care excellence, Magnet designation has been awarded to just six percent of U.S. healthcare organizations.

Commission on Cancer Approval with Commendations
Queen’s Cancer Program was awarded a three-year approval with commendations by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. To receive approval from this prestigious organization, Queen’s Cancer Program underwent a rigorous evaluation and review of its performance. Only 25% of hospitals in the U.S. are approved by the Commission on Cancer.

 

Breast Center National Accreditation
The Queen’s Medical Center Breast Center has received national accreditation by NAPBC. This is the highest level of recognition possible for a Breast Center Program. QMC is the first and only program in Hawaii to receive this designation. The NAPBC is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to the improvement in the quality of care and monitoring of patients with breast disease.

 

Harold P. Freeman Service Award
Queen’s Oncology Patient Navigation Program is one of four national recipients of the 2009 American Cancer Society Harold P. Freeman Service Award. This award is given to organizations who demonstrate exemplary achievement in saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer by improving the quality of life for cancer patients in underserved, at-risk communities.

NCI Community Cancer Centers Program (NCCCP)
The Queen’s Medical Center Cancer Center was chosen by the National Cancer Institute to join a national network of community cancer centers offering expanded research opportunities and state-of-the-art cancer care at community hospitals. NCCCP is designed to create new research opportunities with an emphasis on minority and underserved populations.

For the third year in a row, The Queen’s Medical Center has received the American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines Stroke Gold Performance Achievement Award.
